Reel Feedstock Movement

  • The large reel turns slowly, gently lifting material up into the two blending augers.

  • The lower auger moves material forward, and serves as the discharge auger while the upper auger moves material rearward.

Large Lower Auger

  • The lower auger moves material forward and provides a fast, steady flow to the discharge.

  • Notched sectional flighting has weld in,  hardened knives that are self sharpening.

Large Upper Auger

  • The higher-speed upper auger assists mixing by moving material rearward.

  • The aggressive, hardened-edge knives process material and are reversible and are replaceable.

Reel Crossbars 
and Wipers

  • Adjustable spring-loaded crossbars relieve excessive pressure.

  • Poly wipers assist in mixing the finest ingredients and ensure complete cleanout.


Rear Oil Bath Drive*

  • Dependable heavy-duty roller chain drive
    runs in oil and has spring-loaded, self-aligning poly tighteners for long life.
  • Final drive shafts and sprockets are splined for strength and serviceability.

Pre-Processor
The optional pre-processor allows compressed material, such as small paper, hay or straw bales, to be fed quickly and evenly into the mixing chamber for a faster blending action.

 

 Hydraulic Auger Discharge
The auger discharge has adjustable height for building windrows or discharging onto
conveyors. With a simple drive and replaceable poly chute liners, it will provide years of service compared to chain and slat or belt conveyors. 		Slide Tray Discharge
The high discharge design with simple hydraulically controlled slide tray is suitable for many unloading applications.

 

 

Trailer-type units can be driven with a 
tractor PTO, electric motor, or self-contained diesel engine.

Stationary and trailer units can be driven with an electric motor or a self-contained diesel engine.

 

Reel Auggie “Scrapper”

The Scrapper is a specially designed, self-contained mixer package which is used for combining food scraps or other waste materials with amendments prior to composting. It is easily towable and is powered by its own gasoline engine for mixing at most any location. With a mixing capacity of 5.4 cubic yards, it is just the right size for smaller commercial and institutional mixing applications. The Scrapper is also available with electronic digital scales.

 

Truck-mounted units are mounted on a standard, medium-duty truck chassis of the owner’s choice. Truck units can be driven with either a mechanical PTO or a hydrostatic.

Kuhn Knight can provide special options to make the mixers more versitile, including, tote lifters, washdown systems, and other items.

Available Options Include:

  • Belt Conveyor Discharge — 36" or 48" wide and 7' long, includes hydraulic drive and controls.

  • Electronic Scale System — digital LCD readout, accuracy to within one percent, optional remote readout and zeroing, alarm and batching features.

  • Bale Processor — breaks up small paper, hay or straw bales for processing in the mixer.

  • Diesel, Electric, or Hydraulic Drives

  • Stainless Shells — constructed from #304 stainless or equal.
