New Kuhn Shredders
Kuhn North America, Inc., of Brodhead, Wisconsin, introduces the new VKM-SR line of heavy-duty vineyard and orchard shredders in working widths of 5'8", 6'3", & 6'9".
These shredders feature the proven chassis and headstock of the larger VKM models, which is narrowed and fitted with a special heavy-duty rotor. New hammer knives are fitted to the rotor with 33% more mass and twice the pivot pin surface area for longer life. Compared to the previous models in this size range, the VKM-SR features a higher horsepower driveline, a rotor with helicoidal knife-mount pattern, and a chassis that is 50% heavier. This allows operation on higher horsepower tractors, greater capacity, less vibration, and a longer service life. Shredding capacity is doubled over previous models for prunings up to four inches in diameter.
